About Us
Sasthya Sahay, a voluntary Non- Government health organization (NGO), registered under society act…. in 2005 started its work towards public Health Awarness and addressing public health problems. Being a voluntary Health Organzation focusing on public health various health related activities viz. Organizing Free Health check up Camps, Heath related Seminars along with five Health Fairs in Konnagar, Nabagram and Kanaipur area. in the year 2007, 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2019 had been organized. During successful presentation of this field programme, a need for a development of sustainable community health service had been felt. In this context ,a centre for permanent primary Health care had been established to provide heath related services at Konnagar,Nabagram and Kanaipur area in Hooghly district. Currently we are running this family medicine and well being clinic as COMMUNITY HEALTH centre. Presently more than 300 patients per year are getting benefited from this centre. In future it is our mission to develop this type of clinic throughout the entire Hooghly District .
Family Medicine Clinic
From the month of 6th November 2016, we have started our Sunday OPD clinic.
From the month of November 2016 upto date we have been able to give treatment of 1934. no of patients. We have also made an arrangement for Pathological tests jointly with a NABL Lab named Dr. Sudarshan Chakraborty Memorial Centre for Medical treatment. In this clinic presently we have started a system of Registration of patient by an amount of Rs.20/= and a consultancy fees of Rs.250/= which will be kept in our fund for mitigating the running expenses and we provide treatment @ Rs70/=for next three months. In near future we are preparing to open such clinic in different places of Hooghly District.
From this year , we have started our Clinic for Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday in addition to Sunday clinic. From the month of April 2023 to March2024upto date we have been able to give treatment of almost 1000 no of patients. We have also made an arrangement for Pathological tests jointly with a NABL Lab named Dr. Sudarshan Chakraborty Memorial Centre for Medical treatment for Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. We have started a full-fledged Clinic of Eye and Dental.
School Health Programme
We started our work in the field of free Health Checkup for Primary School Students in the year of 2006-2007 and we had continued it for more than 3 years ,where we ran our project in 11 Govt. aided Primary school and arranged free health checkup camp of approximately 1000 students and detected their Blood Groups and hemoglobin. Beside this we also arranged health checkup camp in two school of child labors including Blood Groups and hemoglobin. It is reported that many of the students in primary school of rural area were affected in malnutrition, anemia which may be due to either poverty and lack of awareness on health related issues. After getting experience from school health programme we decided to form a project on Health Awareness & prevention programme and on that basis we planned:
